Periodic check

What a check is

A periodic check-up is your regular appointment to keep your teeth healthy. At naiida Tandartsen, we examine your teeth, molars, and gums. We discuss what we see. How often you return depends on your teeth. Sometimes after a year, sometimes sooner. Our check-ups take longer than average because we take the time to really look.

Active guidance, don't wait until next year

A check-up at naiida Tandartsen takes longer on average than at many practices. We take the time to see what is really going on.

Many people view a check-up as simply ticking boxes and saying “see you next year.” With us, it works differently. We actively keep track of what is happening with your teeth. If we see an area that requires attention, we make an appointment to discuss it together. No waiting. Taking action.

What we do during a check

During a check-up, we look beyond just cavities:

A visual inspection of all your teeth, molars, and gums
Check for wear, cracks, discoloration, and early signs of caries, or incipient cavities
Assessment of your gums: color, firmness, bleeding tendency
A check of existing fillings, crowns, or other previous restorations to your teeth
If necessary, an X-ray to see what is not visible to the naked eye.
A screening for abnormalities of the inside of the cheek, the tongue, and the floor of the mouth.

What we discuss together

We explain what we see. Even if it is nothing special.

If there are findings, we will discuss the options together. Is active support sufficient, or is treatment necessary? You will receive honest information, without pressure. The choice is yours.

After the check-up: your personal care plan

After every check-up, we update your personal care plan. That could mean: returning in six months for a new check-up. Or an appointment at the dental hygienist. Or wait a while and look again in three months at a place we are keeping an eye on. That way, you always know where you stand. And what the next step is.
