A periodic check-up is your regular appointment to keep your teeth healthy. At naiida Tandartsen, we examine your teeth, molars, and gums. We discuss what we see. How often you return depends on your teeth. Sometimes after a year, sometimes sooner. Our check-ups take longer than average because we take the time to really look.
A check-up at naiida Tandartsen takes longer on average than at many practices. We take the time to see what is really going on.
Many people view a check-up as simply ticking boxes and saying “see you next year.” With us, it works differently. We actively keep track of what is happening with your teeth. If we see an area that requires attention, we make an appointment to discuss it together. No waiting. Taking action.
During a check-up, we look beyond just cavities:
We explain what we see. Even if it is nothing special.
If there are findings, we will discuss the options together. Is active support sufficient, or is treatment necessary? You will receive honest information, without pressure. The choice is yours.
After every check-up, we update your personal care plan. That could mean: returning in six months for a new check-up. Or an appointment at the dental hygienist. Or wait a while and look again in three months at a place we are keeping an eye on. That way, you always know where you stand. And what the next step is.
That depends on your teeth. Some people only need a check-up once a year. Others are better off coming every six months, or we monitor a specific spot sooner. After each check-up, we determine together when you should return. No more than necessary, no less than sensible.

Because we take the time to really look. We examine your teeth, molars, and gums, check existing fillings and crowns, and discuss what we see. Even if there is nothing unusual, we explain that. This allows us to keep a better overview of what is going on.
No, not as a standard procedure. We only take an X-ray if necessary, for example, to see something that is not visible to the naked eye between the teeth or under a filling. We explain why we suggest taking an X-ray before we do so. We discuss the decision together.
A periodic check-up falls under regular dental care. The national regulations apply to this. NZa rates, which are determined every year. For adults, reimbursement is usually provided through supplementary dental insurance, not basic insurance. On the rates page we will explain this further.
