We work with at-home whitening. You receive custom-made whitening trays that you fill with whitening gel at home. You wear them for a few hours a day or at night, for two to four weeks. The result is gradual: a natural lightening of your tooth color, with less sensitivity than quick treatments in the chair.
Whitening works on your own natural teeth, not on fillings or crowns. These retain their original color. How much lighter your teeth become depends on your initial situation. Before we begin, we will discuss what is realistic for you.
A facing is a thin layer of material on the front of your tooth. We apply composite directly in the treatment chair, built up layer by layer, cured, and polished. Suitable for minor irregularities, gaps between teeth, or discoloration.
Usually without anesthesia. Often completed in a single appointment. Composite is less colorfast than porcelain. After a number of years, it may discolor or a small piece may break off. This can be touched up.
Porcelain facings, also known as veneers, are made by the dental lab. We then bond them to your tooth. They are thinner than a crown and require less grinding than you might think, often only 0.3 to 0.5 mm of enamel.
Porcelain is long-lasting and colorfast. It reflects light just like a natural tooth. However, it is a larger investment. And it is irreversible, because enamel is removed. We explain this thoroughly beforehand.

If you want a more even result, we will assess whether to replace a filling or crown with the new color afterwards. Before we whiten, we will discuss together what is realistic for your teeth.
